used to be my favourite place for breakfast, but recently went downhill a bit. good food presentation, but scrambled eggs were served with way too much salt in them, borderline inedible. staff unhelpful and seem annoyed by simplest requests for things provided by default in other places in similar breakfast price bracket. but with that said, still a great spot for breakfast and exploring the market. good coffee.

Located in the buzzing South Melbourne Market, Proper & Son served great cafe food. They had amazing salads and their roast chicken roll was my favourite; tender juicy stuffed chicken sandwiched between fluffy burger buns. Service was average. Coffee was pretty good.

Situated in the corner of the south Melbourne market, it offers modern quirky cuisine. We went for brunch before wondering the market, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had the coconut bread with ricotta and scrambled eggs on toast with a side of smoked salmon. Both were tasty and enjoyable. The coconut bread was a little dry but still tasty. The coffee was really good, strong and hot. Two skinny lattes hit the spot. We were walk in guests and got a table pretty rapidly, and the staff were very attentive. Good spot for brunch
