Moonmart 🌙 - Char sui bacon roll, fried egg, cheese w moon mart sauce $15 - House made Rye Shokupan w/ mentaiko & green tomato pickle $15 - Honey butter toasted rye shokupan w crème fraîche & yuzu $14 - Unagi eel katsu w/tomato & onion, yuzu jalapeno mayo $25 - Matcha latte $6 - Cappuccino $5 I finally understand the hype of Moonmart. Food was 10/10. Highly recommend their house made shokupan. It was fluffy like a cloudy and toasted to perfection. The mentaiko one was salty and umami, well balanced with the tanginess of the green tomato pickle. The sweet honey butter toast had just the right amount of sweetness. I am a sucker for unagi. The deep fried unagi sando really hit the spot. Their egg and bacon was one of the best I have had! My only critique was the matcha latte, it was not strong enough. I would 100% come back again!

Service team and staff are so friendly and kind. One of my favourite places to get a pork katsu sando and set meal. The pork is on the less fatty side and is cooked perfectly. Sometimes there is a little less salt but they give you salt to put on and I also recommend using the katsu sauce provided on the tables. Everytime I’ve been it’s been consistent and always a nice place to dine.

Beautifully presented food Good portion sizes The Katsu was fried to perfection and I love the little seasoning of salt that they had on it the cabbage on the side was also seasoned with a little dressing, which was so good. And I love the steam pumpkin that they had with this creamy dressing on top that was really delicious. The chestnut dish was also really, really good. My friend had that one and she said it was really tasty and she loved the nuttiness the subtle creaminess to it. It was really nice Moon mart is quite quaint quite cozy. It’s definitely not a café for bigger groups.

Went Moon Mart for lunch and tried the Ochazuke and Pork Katsu Sando. The sando was packed with flavour, featuring juicy tender pork katsu with a nice kick from the mustard. The Ochazuke rice bowl, served with fresh prawn and avo, had a delicate refreshing flavour, enhanced by yuzu/green tea dashi. While the sando offered better value, the portions were on the smaller side overall. Coffee was decent but leaned a bit too bitter for my taste.

Absolutely love Moon Mart 🌝 Their tonkatsu is the best I’ve had, perfectly crispy and delicious. Yuzu sauce and Rice with Onsen Super Yummy 😋 And if you’re looking for a refreshing drink, the cold brew with orange juice is the one. The whole menu has so many tasty options, and the coffee is spot on. Definitely worth a visit. Thank you for moving to South Melbourne. You made my day today 🌞
