Krimper Cafe

I recently visited Krimper on a public holiday, eager to enjoy a relaxing brunch. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. The cold brew was a refreshing start—well-balanced with a smooth flavor, hitting the right notes for a satisfying cold coffee. However, the flat white was bland and underwhelming, lacking the creamy depth and robust coffee flavor that typically characterizes a good flat white. It felt diluted and didn’t provide that rich experience one would hope for. Moving to the food, the scrambled eggs were a major letdown. They were plain, bordering on tasteless, with no noticeable seasoning to enhance the eggs’ natural flavor. To make matters worse, they had an unusual fishy taste, which was off-putting and made me question the freshness or quality of the ingredients. Given how simple scrambled eggs are to prepare, it was disappointing to receive such an unsatisfactory dish. While it’s understandable that the holiday rush may affect quality, it’s no excuse for compromised standards, especially with the added public holiday surcharge. I expected better consistency and quality given the premium pricing.

We ordered the Pork Belly and Prawn Scramble, and both dishes were delightful. The Pork Belly was perfectly cooked, with a crispy exterior and tender interior, accompanied by fresh vegetables that added a vibrant touch to the plate. The Prawn Scramble was rich and flavourful, complemented by well-seasoned toast and a generous sprinkle of cheese – a great start to the day! The setting was lively, with an industrial-chic vibe that really makes this place stand out. Not only was the food of great value, but the atmosphere made the whole meal feel special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality food in a unique setting!

The food portions are quite large. We ordered two dishes for the three of us, and it was more than enough. I loved the bacon and waffles, but unfortunately, I didn’t manage to take a photo.

Krimper Cafe is located on a quaint, artsy street, tucked away in a warehouse-style brick building. I visited with friends on a weekday; it was busy, but there were plenty of seats, and the atmosphere was lively. They offer some creative brunch dishes and drinks inspired by Asian cuisine. While the food is tasty, I was expecting more unique flavors; it was good but lacked that memorable touch.
