Grocery Bar East Melbourne

This cafe is an excellent place to stop in for great coffee and sumptuous brunch. There are tasty sandwiches and pastries to take away or dine, they also serve butter chicken, chicken burger and beef lasagna at very reasonable prices, this is a hidden gem in East Melbourne near Albert Street, next to IGA, coffee ☕ was excellent and great customer service and environment. They also have vegetarian muffins.

You can usually tell how good a place is by the patrons. Today, a big breakfast at The Grocery Bar which was bubbling over with people. The queue was about five deep but my o see of eggs Benedict with ham and a hot chocolate was at my ‘table for one’ in under ten minutes. The serving was generous with two English muffins, cut in half so there was plenty to eat. Eggs cooked well and again a generous serving of ham. The patrons were varied - a mother with her toddler in a high chair, a family of 5, a couple, business attired people and an elderly woman doing the crossword. This is why I travel. This is what makes reviewing enjoyable. I get to watch how humans interact and sometimes I strike up a conversation with people who are often grateful for the chit chat. As I left I could see a line of coffee cups, both disposable but amusingly resueable, all in different shapes and sizes and colours. The word is out - reuseable cups! Staff were fabulous. Fast and efficient and all with a smile. Note: wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. High chair available. 🍽🍞 d e b i ☕️🥚

Great little find after a nearby medical appointment. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Food was delicious with quite the variety. Chicken Avo focaccia was yum, calamari & chorizo dish was top notch. Will return post next appointment and keep making our way through the menu.

The boys here treat me well and I strongly recommend. Nice place to grab a coffee, flick through the Age and then enjoy a stroll through Fitzroy Gardens

Great little coffee shop.. cafe! Handy to us with quick friendly service..Great Coffee! wraps & rolls Big improvements are happening here thanks to Luke the New Owner. Our exercise group of older peeps have their excellent!!! Coffee & cakes here on Fridays. 👏 & Hubby and I regularly come on Sundays for Brunch… delicious Eggs Benedict 😋 plus so many other choices for breakfast, Lunch or a quick snack. The staff are all lovely, friendly and accommodating! Not to mention the gorgeous and talented Coffee aficionado!! They even have real newspapers! such a nice touch they have brought back after Covid! There are even plans to open for Dinner in the future!!! Bring it on 🙏
