Tasty food with a lot of nostalgic kitchenware! Appreciate the fresh fruits. Also lots of bike park spots out front. Only downsides are that they don’t take bookings or offer any high chairs for the young ones.

Lovely friendly staff, though they seemed a little overwhelmed during breakfast. We ordered avocado piquello (Basically a standard avo toast), and the chicken burger. Both were good. But I kinda expected a little more for the price. The coffee was also nice.

Johnny Gorilla has been around for years; usually when I pass there are folk waiting on the footpath for their coffees, etc. This week I met a friend for lunch, at 1pm and was surprised to find that there was only one other table that was occupied. The service was prompt, with coffees arriving quickly. For lunch I had the haloumi bagel; my friend had the BLT. Both were generous servings and accompanied with green salad. Each half of the bagel was topped with slices of avocado, grilled haloumi and beetroot relish. Very tasty and filling. The coffees were good. Cost of the meal was about $45. Johnny Gorillas has a bright and airy feeling to it. The main room has one large table, whilst the second room has smaller tables. Staff were friendly. I would recommend eating here and was very surprised to find the restaurant so quiet.
